CALL FOR ACTION
Support the Control Arms Campaign
To celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, Amnesty International is focusing on one campaign every month throughout 2008.
Up to a 1,000 people die every day as a result of armed violence. Many more are hurt and abused by police, criminal gangs and other armed individuals.
We are witnessing an escalation in the culture of violence and young people are caught in it. Children and youth are targets in drug wars, in political and gang-related killing, in civil and international wars, and as victims of police brutality.
Now you can do something to stop this.
Please support the Control Arms Campaign.
Play our new game and spread the word.
With your help we can push governments to support a global Arms Trade Treaty and save thousands of lives.
Since it started in October 2003, the Control Arms Campaign has received the support of more than 1 million people worldwide. We are now at a critical stage: The United Nations General Assembly is meeting in October 2008 and we want to tell governments that people all over the world are watching and monitoring the work they do to support an Arms Trade Treaty with human rights at its heart!
